#33 His Next Verse: To seek and save the lost
July 22, 2008 on 8:03 pm | In General |The eagerness and joy with which Zacchaeus welcomed Jesus is impressive (Luke 19: 1-10). Even more impressive is the change of heart that had him give to the poor and make things right with all whom he had defrauded. This is the outcome of spending time with the ‘Son of Man,’ the one who came ‘to seek and save the lost (v 10)’. May we all meet Jesus daily in His word in this way, that our joy and compassion would abound.
This story has just been translated into Dai, and will be tested next week, along with many other passages. Lord, we pry that the Dai who hear this story and other parts of your word will realize that they are lost and need you, please soften hearts to see you as the ‘Son of Man,’ the only Savior, let them receive you with joy.
